If you have ideas of things you want to build but aren’t exactly sure how to do it, this class might just be just the step you need to become a master builder. In this class we will learn the basic principles of woodworking using hand tools and power drills, learning about hardware and joinery and working on wood finishes and artistic expression. We will also discuss how lumber is made from trees, the life cycle of a tree and the benefits of using repurposed wood when possible. We will workshop many small practice projects culminating in a final project designed by the student.

This class will run for 8 weeks, each week building on the prior week’s work. We will provide a walking school bus from Union Elementary School to Wilder Arts Studio.
