Designed by Mothers

Our kits are designed by a team of mothers with backgrounds in engineering and sustainable design. Our goal is to bring our passion for science, technology, and the arts to children, blowing their minds with the possibilities of the universe, whether we’re talking about atomic particles, space exploration, or prehistoric life forms.

What our customers have to say

I’ve lost track of how many times I have recommended the Makerbox subscription from Wilder Arts to my friends and colleagues. These beautiful boxes are a weekly highlight for my family, sparking new ideas, boosting creativity and confidence, and highly convenient to boot! The company’s commitment to sustainable ingenuity makes us feel that our investment in these boxes is well-spent.

I cannot express how awesome this Wilder Arts Bee Hotel makerbox is. Maria and Sofia are pure genius. Everything is locally sourced, from nature or recycled. Everthing is IN the box, so you don’t have to go looking for random ingredients in your cupboards; and they deliver to your porch every week. I swear I’m not on their marketing team, I just genuinely think they are AMAZING!! And during this time, I’m super grateful! Wilder Arts is beyond cool.

As a family that is tired of accumulating stuff and having most of it end up in a landfill, we were thrilled to find Wilder Arts makerboxes. Not only do I love having interesting projects arrive at my house for my kids as well as myself to learn about, I love that it all would be picked up at the end of the week and I had to deal with none of it. I also love that so much of it would get recycled. What an extra bonus. I would highly recommend these boxes to anyone that is excited to have another mind weigh in on what would keep their kid entertained, happy, busy, and is good for the earth.

The makerbox subscription from Wilder Arts was a game changer for our family this summer. Seeing that beautiful box, bursting with (recycled and sustainable!) materials, on our doorstep was the highlight of the week. The instructions were engaging, easy to follow, and left room for a ton of creativity. Our 5 year old was challenged to be independent with tasks and decisions, while our 9 year old found ways to be creative and learned more about nature and engineering. We spent hours in our yard working with the box each week, and creating art with the homemade water colors became a peaceful ritual that we’ve continued months after the arrival of the first box.

About Our Studio

Wilder Arts is a sustainable makerspace for kids based out of Montpelier, VT. Our commitment to using all natural and/or sustainably sourced materials extends to our Makerboxes and packaging. We find materials in our natural environment, in our rural backyards and ponds. We also partner with our neighbors and recycling centers here in Vermont to find ways to collect and re-use salvaged wood, plastic packaging and electronics that would otherwise end up in a landfill. By finding ways to re-use these non-recyclable and non-biodegradable materials in our Makerboxes, we avoid adding even more packaging to the the world, and also create educational and fun projects for your kids. A win-win! Our goal is to teach children by example, to think creatively (like an artist and engineer!) about how to re-use materials and also the importance of environmental stewardship.
