Remote Control Mayhem: A Soldering, Circuits, and Remote Control Car Design Class
for grades k-2
For the child who likes remote controlled everything: a chance to make their own remote controlled vehicle! Is it a car, a pony, a rocketship, or tomato? Who knows, because you get to decide!
We’ll start with the same frame we use for our soapbox derby cars (just in miniature) and let kids’ imaginations go wild from there. Children will get to build whatever vehicle makes their hearts sing, and a remote control to steer it with. In the class, children will learn how to solder and build complex circuits, as well as any other fabricating skill they need to build their project. They will also design and build an introductory LED project to get comfortable with soldering circuits before they use their newfound skills on their cars.
This class runs for 13 weeks. Drop off is between 3-3:30pm. We will also provide a walking school bus from Union Elementary School.
Mondays, March 10, 2025 to July 16, 2025 (No class on Apr 21th or May 26th.)
